Warm toasty camping. Lying watching the flickering flames, listening to the wind roar, rain pitter-pattering, owl hooting. The owl we never saw unlike the deer who silently stood and stared then crossed the path in a thunder of hooves. What a relaxing place – fantastic few days.

The first 2 days were wonderful. We climbed up Gummers Howe and saw the most amazing views, then on our last day the rain came and the yurt came into it’s own. Snug, comfy, and cozy. With the fire on, sat in bed with a cuppa after a lovely hot shower watching the mist descend – bliss!

Had a lovely time in the yurt. The children enjoyed the freedom of the woods and it’s a great tranquil setting. During our stay here we went on the steam train and then boat across lake Windermere, climbing up ‘cat bells’, walking down to Fellfoot Park, and enjoyed fab views from Gummers How. All great activities enjoyed by ourselves and our 2 children.

A most unique and wonderful first time experience that we will undoubtedly repeat. A perfect place to retreat and find peace and tranquillity and to re-charge our batteries and relax. We are great fans of glamping having stay in wigwams and loved it. Yurts were a first for us and we feel utterly spoilt. The décor is amazing and the yurt is so cosy. We love the peace and quiet, the shower is wow! The location of the yurt is great with easy access to what the Lakes has to offer. We have decided we are going to live in a yurt – it’s far more luxurious and romantic than a 5-star hotel. The shower was amazing. This week has surpassed our expectations. We have both long dreamed of experiencing living in a yurt and took the opportunity to do so for our honeymoon. It has rained everyday but that has just added to the enjoyment and the sound of it on the roof is just magical. The location is perfect – what a sight as you open the door first thing in the morning. The shower is divine – I am planning on taking a wall our in our bathroom at home!

"This is our second stay in the wonderful yurt and it was just as romantic and memorable as the first. We arrived on Friday night, the fire was lit and the Champagne was in the fridge! We has a lovely romantic meal surrounded by fairy lights and candles, and then Steve got down on one knee and proposed! I can’t think of a more wonderful place to get a proposal of marriage and i shall remember the night forever! This is a truly magical place. Sad to be leaving but lots of lovely memories"

"I have never camped before...and won’t now. This is too cosy! We were so impressed by the way the yurt warms up so quickly - the fire is a real bonus and the atmosphere is truly relaxing. Waking up in the morning to light flooding through the skylight was a wonderful thing, and stepping outside into the stunning scenery was a real treat. The shower is a miracle really - lovely hot water, easy to use and really well thought out! A memorable holiday"
