| 19ft Yurt |
Our new 19ft yury is a handpainted Mongolian Yurt and is situated in a beautiful and secluded part of the woodland, with a stream running less than 10 yards from your door. The stream runs into a dipping pool which is perfect for chilling your wine (if the fridge is full) or for a paddle on a hot summers day.
It’s warm, it’s dry, and it’s light, bright and beautiful.
Size... At 19 foot, our yurt is a similar size to most available for holidays in the UK. We have deliberately kept the sleeping number to four so you will have plenty of space to stretch out inside on a rainy evening. Untraditionally, we have placed the wood burning stove at the side of the yurt rather than in the centre, which maximises the usable space you have, and also means you get to lie in the middle of the floor to look up at the stars through the crown.
Warm... The yurt is free from draughts and is well insulated against cold and wind. The wood burning stove, well tended, provides ample heat to keep the space toasty warm even in the coldest winter months. The stove is easily controllable so you can make it really warm or keep it slowly smouldering through the night. You will find a ready built fire in the stove waiting for you to light when you arrive. To keep you warm outside you have your own exclusive chiminea, with seating area.
Dry... We have adapted the outer layers of the yurt to ensure it is fully waterproof even in the biggest downpours.
Light... To enhance the feature of the ‘window to the sky’ through the 5ft crown, we have made a clear cover, maximising the view outside and the amount of natural light inside. For when the daylight fades to night, we have provided a solar powered lighting system, so you can still cook or play games when the sun goes down. Candles are provided for lanterns inside and out to create that magical romantic ambience.
Bright and Beautiful... The interior of the Yurt is a big part of what makes it beautiful. The traditional, hand painted, Mongolian designs on the woodwork bring colour and keep you in touch with the origins of the yurt. The colourful and luxurious textiles along with some unique antique furnishings give the space a really special feel.
